Nokomis

Named after Lake Nokomis, the Nokomis community is home to eleven smaller neighborhoods, which include: Diamond Lake, Ericsson, Field, Hale, Keewaydin, Minnehaha, Morris Park, Northrup, Page, Regina and Wenonah.
The neighborhoods include tree-lined blocks with a variety of sizes and styles. Many local businesses are part of the community.
Keewaydin, Morris Park, Minnehaha and Wenonah neighborhoods are commonly referred to as Nokomis East, which in recent years, has become a trendy area of Nokomis. 34th Ave and 50th Street in Nokomis East has been a popular favorite for the City Pages, “Best of Awards” for the last two years. This year, 3 Tiers restaurant was awarded “Best restaurant in Nokomis, Minneapolis” and in 2013, its neighbor Al Vento was awarded, the BEST Italian restaurant in all of Minneapolis, and down 34th Avenue to the south, Las Teresitas was awarded, “Best Mexican Restaurant” in all of Minneapolis.
