Minneapolis Neighborhoods

Minneapolis is the most populous city in Minnesota. Built around Saint Anthony Falls, Minneapolis was once the world’s flour mill capital and a timber hub. Nowadays, Minneapolis boasts one of the best park systems in the country and is home to several sports teams (Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves and Lynx)! Additionally, Minneapolis features a strong performing arts scene and is second only to New York City when it comes to live theater per capita. Prince, Bob Dylan, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Dessa, Lizzo- the list of artists who have called Minneapolis home at one time or another goes on and on!

Divided into eleven communities, each of which are comprised of several neighborhoods, there is something for everyone in Minneapolis! For more information about a few predominant communities within the City of Minneapolis, please click on the links below.

Made famous in the Prince song “Uptown”, this trendy community is for the young and the young at heart. Block after block of retail stores and restaurants lead to the community’s most prominent feature – beautiful Lake Bde Maka Ska and The Chain of Lakes, a key component of the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway, a 51-mile loop composed of parkways, trails, and the Mississippi River Boulevard.

Longfellow is a beautiful community within southeast Minneapolis, located along the Mississippi River Gorge. Rich in nature and recreation, this community is home to the fabled Minnehaha Falls. With over 21,000 residents and 400 unique businesses, Longfellow is the largest neighborhood in Minneapolis.

The Southwest community is one of the most sought after spots in Minneapolis. It is conveniently located not only to Downtown Minneapolis, but also to the popular 50th and France commercial district (with over 175 retail shops and offices!), The Chain of Lakes, and many wonderful parks. Real estate in this community includes Tudor, prairie-style, Victorian-era, and ramblers.

As first-time homebuyers, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into when we began looking for a home. We were and still are so thankful that we found Adam to help us navigate the process and walk us through a multitude of properties. He was so incredibly knowledgeable on every neighborhood in the Twin Cities area and was able to point out aspects of properties that would need work, how things could be renovated or if everything was in great shape. He was incredibly honest with us throughout the entire process and we trusted his advice completely. Our house hunting experience took several months, and we were so thankful for his continued patience and guidance through it all. I highly recommend Adam to everyone looking to buy or sell a house, he is absolutely wonderful to work with.
